Saturday Open Studio

The Weaving studio and Gallery, located at 2623 Main St., Brewster, MA,  will be open for individual weaving projects and mentorship every Saturday throughout the fall, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  New and existing students are welcome to come use the looms and equipment to further their weaving knowledge and skill.  New students will be charged $100.00 for the first session and $50.00 for subsequent weaving studio sessions.  Depending on the proposed project, there might be a nominal materials fee.  I am looking forward to working with all of you who want to start or continue to weave.

  1. Hello, my name is Jennie I am 19 years old and began weaving when I was 12. This last Christmas I got a small loom of my own. It is a 7.75″ ridged heddle loom. I am able to weave and create scarves on the loom. My problem seems to be creating the proper tension on the work. For some reason, the warp threads on the edges of my work are significantly tighter than the ones in the center. I’d like to know about possibily scheduling a class or how you would recommend dealing with this.
    Thank you,
    – Jennie

  2. Hello Jennie,
Thank you for your interest in learning how to work with your rigid heddle loom. I give weaving lessons on Saturdays from 10 to 4. Stop in and see if this is something you would like to do.
    Sincerely,
    Gretchen
